Dr. Besik Chaduneli
Dr. Chaduneli is a Sports Medicine doctor with 30+ years of professional experience in High Performance Sports like rugby (most of the time), football, triathlon, swimming, tennis, etc. One of his prefered fields in sports sciences is Exercise Physiology. He also has a vast epxerience in Cardiac Rehabilittion.
He lived, studied and worked in Colombia for 17 years, where he obtained his professional degree in Sports Medicine.
Upon his return to Georgia in 2017, he was appointed Georgian National Rugby Team Doctor and Chief Medical Officer of the Georgia Rugby Union. He held the latter position until June, 2022.
Between 2020 and 2024 he was a member of the Rugby Europe Player Welfare Sub-Committee and since 2019 was appointed Medical Delegate for Rugby Europe International Tournaments.
He also was the International Doping Control Officer for Clearidium, Denmark, between 2022 and 2024.
Currently, he is a Medical Trainer for World Rugby. In this role, he delivers World Rugby courses (First Aid In Rugby, Immediate Care In Rugby, Match Day Doctor, Educator curses) throughout Europe and in occasions in Asia.
Dr Chaduneli speaks fluent English, Spanish, Russian and, of course, Georgian, which is his mother tongue.
